To assist us in keeping the course in good condition we ask that you observe the basic rules of course etiquette. They are intended to give players a basic understanding of what to do (and what not to do) on a golf course.
Players must:
Report to the pro shop at least 15 minutes before your scheduled tee-off time and also immediately before you go out to play
Always start from the first tee unless permission to start from another tee has been given by the Golf Professional.
Replace all divots, repair pitch marks before moving off, and rake overall footprints in bunkers
Not take trolleys, buggies, or golf bags onto the greens
Not play any shot until it is safe to do so
Shout “fore” if you think a stray shot may hit someone
Dress code
Players must wear:
A shirt or t-shirt with a collar at all times. Vests are not acceptable.
Trousers or tailored shorts. Jeans and tracksuit bottoms are not permitted.
Golf shoes or flat-soled shoes.
Pace of play
Players are asked to observe the following:
Be ready to play when it is your turn
Walk briskly between shots and if possible decide which club to use for your next shot before you reach the ball
Do not take an excessive number of practice swings
Carefully watch shots that are hit offline
If you play a bad shot and suspect the ball might be lost, play a provisional just in case
Signal players in the group behind to play through when searching for a lost ball
Before putting, always leave your bag or trolley alongside the green nearest to the next tee
When you have completed the hole, clear the green quickly and mark your scorecard as you walk to the next tee
Be conscious of your pace and let through groups that are playing quicker
If there is a clear hole in front of you, and the following group have caught you up and are waiting, try to wave them through – especially if they are a smaller group (for example, a two-ball versus a four-ball).
